This 4-month immersive acting program is designed to help actors develop emotional depth, script analysis skills, and confidence on-camera presence using the Chubbuck Acting Method.

If you want to bring your acting to the next level, this technique is for you! The Chubbuck technique will enable you not only to perform with genuine emotion but also to create characters that go from pain to prosperity, exploring the potential for transformation and building power in your performance.

With this technique, you will create a character that captivates the audience and makes them want to see more! You will say every line in the script, so it deeply matters to you and fuels the character's struggle to win. It will also help you build charisma, understand your own emotions more deeply, and grow as a performer and as a human being.

The course culminates in a professional headshot session with TOPTIA Photography, giving participants industry-ready materials.

The Program

Held virtually online with Maya Dukic, your certified instructor. She will tap into your ability to convey deep and convincing emotion in your work for both beginners and experienced actors.

A 4-month Chubbuck Method Acting Course

A certified headshot photographer, Tia Haygood, will help you channel your newly acquired skills into a professional headshot portfolio ready to use for your auditions.

A 30-minute Actor’s Headshot Photo Session

The Curriculum

  • Month 1 – April: Foundations of the Chubbuck Method

    Goal: Actors understand why they act, take ownership of their need, and ground performance in personal truth.

    Key Topics:

    Introduction to the Chubbuck Technique
    Using personal experiences as fuel
    Emotional accessibility
    Script analysis basics

    What Students Will Do:

    Monologue work
    Emotional exercises
    Journaling and character backstory building

  • Month 2 – May: Scene Work & Character Development

    Goal: Actors learn to access emotional vessel and turn it into action.

    Key Topics:

    Objectives & obstacles

    Personalizing the scene truthfully

    Creating urgency before the scene starts

    Raising the stakes

    What Students Will Do:

    Partnered scene studies

    Detailed script analysis

    Directed feedback sessions

  • Month 3 – June: Transformation and Heightened Craft

    Goal: Actors move from realism into layered, compelling performance with psychological depth.

    Key Topics:

    Physical behavior as an emotional engine

    Mastering the inner monologue

    Creating the fourth wall

    Allowing emotional unpredictability

    What Students Will Do:

    They justify choices (objective, obstacles, substitutions, arc)

    They adjust choices based on feedback, intensifying the emotional truth

    They arrive with the work already alive, not discovered in class

  • Month 4 – July: Mastering the Performance + Headshot Experience

    Goal: Actors synthesize all 12 steps and perform with freedom, confidence, and consistency.

    -Students complete a full Chubbuck scene breakdown without instructor guidance

    -They know how to use their own emotional history to fuel the character’s need to win

    -After the instructor’s feedback and rework, they will have polished, camera-ready scenes

    By the end of the program, students will be able to:

    Create dynamic, goal-oriented characters with emotional depth

    Become the character they are playing without forcing the emotion

    Walk into auditions or rehearsals prepared, specific, and confident

    They adjust choices based on feedback without losing emotional truth

Application and Placement

Beginners and advanced actors are welcome.

All applicants will be assessed to ensure appropriate placement.

The main source of guidance for this course stems from life experience, allowing the Chubbuck method be effective.
